The SHi® Chrome Sandwich Technique

Beautiful chrome is only half the job. Keeping it beautiful is where the workflow matters.

The SHi® Chrome Sandwich Technique uses Diamond Glue Gel as a reinforcement layer between the finished chrome surface and the final finishing gel.

Smart Chrome™ → Chrome Powder → Diamond Glue Gel → Smart Shield™

Reflect → Reinforce → Protect

1. Apply Smart Chrome™ according to the recommended application and curing guidelines.
2. Burnish chrome powder into the prepared surface until the desired reflective finish is achieved.
3. Gently remove excess chrome powder without disturbing the finished chrome surface.
4. Apply a controlled layer of Diamond Glue Gel directly over the finished chrome.
5. Do not cure Diamond Glue Gel separately at this stage. Apply Smart Shield™ directly over the uncured Diamond Glue Gel.
6. Cure the completed sandwich according to the SHi® recommended application and curing guidelines.

Diamond Glue Gel reinforces the chrome layer while Smart Shield™ provides the final protective finish.

For Small Crystals & Pixie Designs

For small to medium dimensional embellishments and Pixie-style crystal designs, Diamond Glue Gel can be incorporated into the finishing workflow to provide additional support.

Smart Matte™ → Diamond Glue Gel → Finishing Gel → Crystals / Pixie

Smart Matte™ creates a controlled working surface, Diamond Glue Gel provides the reinforcement layer, and the finishing gel becomes part of the placement workflow for the small embellishments.

Follow the SHi® recommended curing sequence for the specific embellishment technique being performed.

For Large Crystals, Charms & 3D Nail Art

Larger embellishments require a different workflow.

Smart Matte™ → Diamond Glue Gel → Large Crystal / Charm / 3D Art → Seal Around

1. Prepare the finished surface using Smart Matte™ when appropriate for the design.
2. Apply Diamond Glue Gel only where the embellishment will be placed.
3. Position the large crystal, charm, or 3D art into the gel.
4. Cure according to the SHi® recommended curing guidelines.
5. When additional sealing is required, carefully reinforce around the attachment area without unnecessarily covering the design.

Crystal Tip: When working with faceted crystals, avoid coating the top surface with finishing gel. Covering the facets can reduce the reflective brilliance that gives the crystal its sparkle.

Where to Use Diamond Glue Gel

Diamond Glue Gel is designed as a specialized reinforcement and embellishment gel within compatible professional nail workflows.

Recommended for use over compatible finished surfaces such as:

• Gel polish
• Smart Matte™
• Hard gel
• Soft gel
• Finished chrome surfaces using the SHi® Chrome Sandwich Technique

Not recommended for direct application to:

• Natural nail
• Bare acrylic
• Bare dip powder

For acrylic and dip powder services, properly finish the surface with the appropriate compatible gel layer before incorporating Diamond Glue Gel into the nail art workflow.
